8,000 year old prehistoric obsidian mirrors found in the ruins of the Neolithic settlement known as Çatalhöyük, Turkey, and were made c. 6400 BCE. These are the oldest manufactured mirrors in the world; the convex carving suggest they were also used to light up dark spaces during the day

In 2007, archaeologists have discovered an 11,000-year-old mural in Syria, which they believe is the world's oldest known painting on a constructed wall. The 2 square-metre mural was found inside the remains of a circular mudbrick building at the neolithic settlement of Dja'de el-Mughara
